Idhayathai Thirudathey is a 1989 Tamil romance movie written and directed by Mani Ratnam. Starring Akkineni Nagarjuna and Girija Shettar in lead roles, the film’s soundtrack was composed by Ilaiyaraaja.
Upon release, the film met with both commercial success and critical acclaim. Idhayathai Thirudathey won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and seven state Nandi Awards.
