
Karaiyellam Shenbagapoo (Eng: Shore Full of Champak Flower) is a 1981 Tamil-language Indian thriller film directed by G. N. Rangarajan, starring Prathap Pothan and Sripriya in lead roles.
The film, had musical score by Ilaiyaraaja and was released on 14 August 1981. The movie is based on Sujatha’s novel Karaiyellam Shenbaga Poo.
C. V. Kalyana Raman (Prathap Pothan) a young man comes to a village from the town to collect village songs for his research.
There, he meets a village girl called Velli (Sripriya) who helps him to carry his luggage. Velli and her cousin Maruthamuththu are in love with each other, hoping to marry soon.
