Puthukavithai is a Tamil movie directed by SP. Muthuraman. The film is a remake of the 1976 hit Kannada film Naa Ninna Mareyalare with Rajkumar and Lakshmi, famous Tamil actress in the lead.
Anand (Rajinikanth) is motorcycle champion for six years in a row. Winning the championship brings him the introduction of Uma (Jyothi), the daughter of Thilakavathy (Sukumari); a haughty, rich woman.
