Thedi Vandha Mappillai (Eng: I Came Looking for the Groom) is a Tamil spy thriller film directed by B.R.Pandhulu released in 1970.
The film was blockbuster at box-office, which ran more than 100 days in theatres all over Tamil Nadu.
The movie is a remake of director’s own 1967 Kannada movie Beedi Basavanna starring Rajkumar with minor changes.

Pasupathy (Major Sundarrajan)’s boss (B.R.Pandhulu) is shot by an unknown man, but the blame falls on Pasupathy. The surviving boss sends away his wife Parvati Ammal (M. V. Rajamma) and son Shankar (MGR) into hiding fearing his family’s fate.
