Veeraiyan is set in a small town in Tanjore and takes us to the people who have settled over there. A decent ambience is established with their small lives, hopes and ambitions.
A doting father (Aadukalam Naresh), who earns his living by manual labour, has his hopes pinned on his son (Vasanth), who is all set to appear for his Class 10 exams in a while.
The dutiful son, who is loved by one and all in the village, gets embroiled in trouble when his friend falls in love with a girl, who happens to be the daughter of a bigshot (Vela Ramamoorthy).
